Phobias
Arachnophobia: Fear of spiders. This phobia can range from mild discomfort to extreme anxiety and panic attacks when encountering spiders or even thinking about them.
Acrophobia: Fear of heights. Individuals with acrophobia may experience intense anxiety or panic when exposed to heights, such as standing on a tall building or looking down from a high place.
Claustrophobia: Fear of confined spaces. Claustrophobia can cause panic or extreme discomfort in situations where individuals feel trapped or enclosed, such as crowded elevators, small rooms, or MRI machines.
Agoraphobia: Fear of situations or places that may cause panic, embarrassment, or helplessness. People with agoraphobia often avoid crowded spaces, open areas, or situations where escape may be difficult or embarrassing.
Social Phobia (Social Anxiety Disorder): Fear of social situations or scrutiny by others. Social phobia can manifest as intense anxiety or avoidance of social interactions, public speaking, or situations where individuals feel they may be judged or evaluated by others.
Ophidiophobia: Fear of snakes. This phobia may cause individuals to avoid areas where snakes are present, experience panic attacks when encountering snakes, or have intrusive thoughts or nightmares about snakes.
Cynophobia: Fear of dogs. Individuals with cynophobia may experience anxiety or panic when near dogs, leading to avoidance of places where dogs are present or even fear of specific breeds.
Trypophobia: Fear of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps. While not officially recognized as a specific phobia in diagnostic manuals, trypophobia can cause discomfort, anxiety, or even panic in some individuals when exposed to trigger stimuli.
Aerophobia: Fear of flying. Aerophobia can range from mild discomfort to severe anxiety or panic attacks when boarding or flying in an airplane.
Hemophobia: Fear of blood. Hemophobia can cause individuals to experience anxiety, nausea, dizziness, or fainting when exposed to blood or situations involving blood, such as medical procedures or injuries.
